There’s something magical about the trees that surround us here in Northern Minnesota. From towering pines to delicate maples, the natural beauty of this landscape has always been a huge part of my life. As a tree hugger at heart, I’ve always felt a deep connection to the forest, and it’s this love for nature that inspires much of my work at Sisu Imagination Studio. The trees have a way of grounding me, and they provide endless inspiration for the custom crafts I create. Whether it’s the grain of the wood, the pattern of bark, or the stillness of the forest, these elements find their way into everything I make.
“The Forest” by H.D. (Hilda Doolittle)
The forest stands,
Not knowing it is a forest,
Green arms outstretched,
To grasp the light—
Yet unaware of its name.
The trees in quiet patience,
A steady breath,
An endless sigh,
Of leaves that shimmer in the sun,
A breathless moment held.
Being in nature has always been a form of healing for me. I’ve spent countless hours wandering through the woods, absorbing the peace and beauty that trees offer. Each tree tells its own story, and it’s a story I try to translate into my creations. The natural imperfections in the wood, the subtle texture of bark, and the way light filters through the branches inspire me to craft unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. My love for trees isn’t just about their beauty—it’s about the connection they represent, the life they sustain, and the lessons they teach us about patience and growth. The fact that they literally clean the water and air that we breath. Trees are to me the root of human existence and likely the answer to many of our pollution problems. I digress. haha

It’s this deep appreciation for nature that influences my work. At Sisu Imagination Studio, I carefully select natural materials and incorporate elements from the environment around me into my custom crafts. Whether it’s a wooden plaque that captures the essence of the forest or a small sculpture that reflects the grace of a tree, each piece carries a part of Northern Minnesota’s spirit. The trees here have always been a part of my journey, and I hope to share that connection with others through my work.
In conclusion
My love for trees and nature is woven into the fabric of every piece I create. It’s not just about crafting beautiful objects—it’s about honoring the environment that has inspired me for so long. By incorporating the natural beauty of Northern Minnesota into my custom crafts, I hope to pass on a piece of this artistry to others, reminding us all of the wonder that surrounds us and the importance of preserving the world we love.
